So here are some recent happenings:

1) Grammastola pulchra (Brazilian Black)

Molts Updates

Recently molted tarantulas but sadly the exo skeletons have been crushed during the molting process.

1) Brachypelma smithi > from 2 inches to almost 3 inches...ALMOST
2) Pterinochilus murinus > from 3 inches to 4 inches +/-...MALE
3) Nhandu coloratovillosus > from 1 inch to almost 2 inches
4) RCF Grammastola porteri > from 1.25 inches to almost 2 inches

Missing Leg !!!

I discovered this yesterday at around 2am morning.I am so shocked and frustrated with the missing of my Chilean Rose Hair tarantula.I don't know when this happened and what caused it,as the missing leg was no where to be found.

As bad as it can be,luckily tarantula has the ability to regenerate any missing legs.
It'll be quite a wait to see my tarantula with eight legs again though.

Some updates on the tarantulas:
Molting pictures:

1) Lasiodora parahybana freshly molted.

2) Brachypelma boehmei postmolt.

Balaptica Dubia Moulted.

I didn't know that Dubia roach will also moult until I found this 10 minutes ago in my Dubia roach enclosure.

1) A freshly moulted Dubia roach !

2) The dorsal view. Notice the pale coloration-sign of a moult.

3) The ventral view. Hard to keep it lying flat for picture session though.

4) The old exoskeleton. Notice the vertical crack where the newly formed roach breaked through.

5) The underside of the exoskeleton.

Another lesson well-learned.

Parcel Received From Andrew on 03/11/2009

Today I've received another parcel from Andrew.

Erm...should say that I went to pick it up at the pos office today because of the heavy rain and it's only a slight chance that a posman will wade through the pouring rain to deliver it to me.

1) As usual, a thick layer of cushioning to minimize any harm that would happen during shipping.

2) Packing of the new Pandinus imperator scorpling, my first scorpion !

3) A container(now i got a container for perhaps an arboreal tarantula sling) packed with sphagnum moss and some surprises inside :)

4) Vial contaning the scorpling,with label.

5) Closeup of the African Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator).

6) Surprise within the moss - Dubia roaches (Balaptica dubia)! This is just one of the bigger nymphs. They're going to be my colony starter.

7) Temporary housing for the roaches and some springtails. Can you spot them? LOL

I've got to say that I;m really satisfied with this shipment. Thumbs up ;) ! ! !

Tarantulas Received From Andrew Ang.

- Here's my parcel containing several tarantula species from Andrew Ang, a reputable tarantula breeder in Malaysia. Received on 14/10/2009.

- Attached inside are his business card and the official receipt of purchase.

- The inside of the parcel. Note that the box is filled with foam. That is to minimize the vibration to the tarantulas during shipping.

- The cushioning packing of the vials that holds the tarantulas.

- The vials holding the smaller tarantulas.

- These vials hold the bigger tarantulas. Note that the inside of each vials is heavily cushioned with tissue paper. Vital for the tarantula's survival during shipping.

- The labellings on the vials help to make identifying different species easier.

Review on Andrew Ang:
- Overall a great seller. Very informative and professional in the shipment of live animals. Ensures great packing of the animals. And one more, the tarantulas from him are in superb condition. Tip top.
